Fletcher - Copenhaver Fine Art of Virginia

Fletcher/Copenhaver Fine Art specializes in 19th and early 20th century American and European Fine Art, both oils and works on paper. All the works in our inventory are chosen with an eye for beauty, quality, and condition. We exhibit at charity antiques shows throughout the country and work with both private and museum collections.

In 1996 we co-curated the exhibition Moses Soyer: My Message is People, which was shown at the Museum of Arts & Sciences, Daytona Beach, Florida, and the Polk Museum, Lakeland, Florida. In 2002 we curated the exhibition Moses Soyer: from Social Realism to Romantic Realism at the Ridderhof Martin Gallery of the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. We usually have exceptional works by Moses Soyer and other artists in his circle available in our inventory.

We are pleased to have contributed essays to the book: "A Treasury of American Art".

We pay particular attention to thorough documentation of all that we sell, and to its presentation and framing. All works on paper are matted using only 100% acid-free materials and are framed under conservation clear glass or museum glass to protect them from the harmful effects of light; oils are often framed in hand-crafted, 22 carat gold leafed frames which are both historically and esthetically appropriate.
