Fin & Feather Pet Center, Inc. is owned and operated by Melvin Major. Fin & Feather opened its Lakeside location in 1959 and is the oldest locally owned pet center in Richmond.

Since the beginning, our focus has been to stay on top of the trends in the pet industry, to maintain knowledge of all the products and animals we carry. Our service to the customer has always been our top priority. With that in mind, employee training is ongoing. Anyone wishing to become a Fin & Feather associate must have pet experience and must love animals. Many of our associates are considered experts in their respective specialties.

We stock a large variety of freshwater fish, birds, small animals, and reptiles as well as all the necessary supplies for them. When it comes to dog and cat we have everything they need as well as a grooming department. The Water Garden Center at Fin & Feather is fully stocked with ornamental pond supplies, fish, and plants.
