| Gilman Mechanical was formed in 1917 by the Gilman Brothers. The company was established primarily as a plumbing company, employing at one time approximately 25 plumbers. During the mid-1980s the primary focus of work changed from plumbing to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). |

In 1996, Gilman Mechanical Corporation merged with Miller-Hancock Services and became one company, Gilman Heating & Cooling, under the direction of Winston Hancock, President. In that same year, the company headquarters moved from Richmond, Virginia to Ashland, Virginia. Starting in the spring of 2000, Gilman has closed its plumbing department and has begun concentrating exclusively on its heating and air conditioning department. |

Today, Gilman Heating & Cooling is a full-service HVAC contractor with complete service and installation departments. We serve the entire Richmond area, including the City of Richmond and the Counties of Hanover, Henrico, Chesterfield, Caroline, and Goochland. Our area of specialty is residential and light commercial repair and replacement. We offer 24-hour emergency service 365 days of the year, and currently have 11 fully equipped computer-dispatched trucks on the road to serve you. |

The mission of Gilman Heating & Cooling is to design, install, and service high quality heating, cooling, and ventilating systems. We recognize that service to our customers, commitment to quality, and maintaining our highly trained professional personnel are the key to our success. To facilitate this, we will establish education, incentive, research, and quality control programs that will maintain and monitor all facets of our business. During work, we will respect our customers property and keep it clean. We will be punctual for our appointments.
We will treat our employees fairly and compensate them in accordance with their performance and contributions to the firm. A safe, clean, friendly work environment will be maintained at all times. We will offer continuing education to to associates so that they may advance in their field.
We will respect our suppliers and treat them fairly because we are only as good as they are.
In all that we do, we will be careful with our fragile environment. We will abide by all local, state, and federal regulations that will help protect it. We will recycle products whenever possible.
